The Lost Blonde - The Veronica Lake Story (2021)

This one oddly escaped me until recently.. there’s a new movie in production that appears to be a bio-pic of Veronica Lake’s life. It has been worked on over the last few years and they are pushing to get it finished.

The true, extraordinary story of Veronica Lake, one of the most iconic Hollywood actresses of all time.
Starring Clara Paget as Veronica Lake:

It feels very much like a one hander stage play in movie form.

The award winning trailer they made (Winner of Best Trailer – No Movie Award from the Golden Trailer Awards 2021) is absolutely excellent. An older Connie Keane sits at a bar, cigarette and drink in hand, and asks you if you know who Veronica Lake is. Reflected in the mirrors is her luxuriously haired younger self. It’s great.

Clara Paget is a great fit for Veronica Lake. You might know her as a British actress with a few notable films under her belt already (St Trinian’s 2, Fast & Furious 6 and TV’s Black Sails.). Her face is more than a match to pull off the role (with and without the Peek-a-boo Bang) and I believed it.

Interesting I think this is a British production with links to the London film scene, I’ve reached out to them to see what details they can give us on production and release.

I have reached out to the production via the Little Dude website and have had an exchange of emails with Ian Beaumont (Director, Little Dude Films) regarding the status of the project. I hope to be able to bring you more details really soon.

I for one am extremely excited to see where this film goes and would dearly love to see it completed. It’s been a long time since something so solely Lake focused has come to my attention and it’s exactly what this site is all about.
