The New Bomb Turks are an American punk rock band formed in Columbus, Ohio, in 1990. Known for their energetic and explosive live performances, the band plays a high-octane mix of punk rock, garage rock, and rock and roll, embodying the spirited and raw sound that characterizes the genre. The members of the band at its inception included Eric Davidson (vocals), Jim Weber (guitar), Matt Reber (bass), and Bill Randt (drums).

The New Bomb Turks quickly made a name for themselves in the punk scene with their debut album, "!!Destroy-Oh-Boy!!," released in 1993. This album, along with its follow-ups, showcased the band’s fast-paced songs, clever lyrics, and Davidson’s distinctive vocal style. Their music often incorporates elements of humour and satire, set against the backdrop of catchy hooks and riffs.

Throughout the 1990s and into the 2000s, the New Bomb Turks released a series of albums and EPs on various independent labels, including Crypt Records, Epitaph Records, and Gearhead Records. Albums like "Information Highway Revisited" (1994), "Scared Straight" (1996), and "Nightmare Scenario" (2000) further established the band’s presence in the punk and garage rock scenes.

Despite never breaking into mainstream success, the New Bomb Turks have maintained a loyal fan base and critical acclaim for their contributions to punk rock. Their commitment to the DIY ethos and their relentless touring schedule helped solidify their reputation as one of the more respected and enduring bands in the punk community.

The New Bomb Turks’ influence extends beyond their own recordings, as they’ve been cited as an inspiration by later bands in the garage punk and underground rock scenes. Even though their recording output has slowed down in recent years, the band members have occasionally reunited for live shows, proving that their raw energy and passion for punk rock remain undiminished.

"Veronica Lake," the EP, includes a few tracks that contribute to the band’s reputation for producing short, sharp, and often humorous songs that capture the essence of punk’s DIY ethos and rebellious spirit.
