Who the Hell are RIDDLE? ome time ago now I received an email from a guy in a band who had a tattoo of Veronica Lake on his arm.
I don’t remember now if I asked him or he offered to send a picture of the tattoo of Veronica to Peekaboo Bang for the Inspiration section. So anyway after a few months, when it all was forgotten about, quite a large parcel arrived from New Jersey.
Drawing a complete blank as to its possible contents I opened it to find not only the tattoo photos but some flyers, a T-shirt, a copy of the album, a great Magazine write-up on Veronica and a letter requesting inclusion in this site.
Such coolness should not go unrewarded and so I’ve put together a few pages that in some small way return
RIDDLE the Album. ow! I must keep doing sites like this if people are gonna start sending me albums to check out :)
There’s nothing quite like the sound of Punk Rock and believe me there are different types, yeh the main stream stuff all sounds kinda the same, but Riddle have gone for a mix of the chugg chugg riffing and metalesque guitar solos.
Overtones of the Damned in the style and execution with early MetallicA in the guitar solos and sound.
Combine this with some great, tongue very firmly in cheek, lyrics ( See "Sex in a Pet Store Window" & "The Dead" ) and you get a high energy, fun album with songs I’d love to hear live.
