Back in 2001 I had an email from a guy who is researching material for a ’positive’ new biography on Veronica Lake. As usual I take most mails like this with a pinch but after some correspondence I’m convinced he is on the level, I wouldn’t put it here if I didn’t think so.

At this stage of his research he wants to get into contact with individuals who knew her at any time of her life, especially from her younger and later times in England, Hollywood, New York & Florida. If you were her friend, work associates or relative he would be very interested in your input.
The focus is on her career, image and woman behind in detail and its lasting impact on pop culture. Creating a lasting and above all accurate depiction of her life and times.
He says: "I want readers to come away with a new understanding of what it’s like living with a public facade - one that has a life of its own, one that’s completely at odds with your own personality."
I, as a dedicated Veronica Lake fan, gratefully applaud this venture and wish to offer my full thanks and support to anything that furthers the clarity in the memory of Constance Keane and her lasting place in out hearts.
