The Girl is Crying in Her Latte is Sparks’ 25th studio album and track 2 (also the 2nd single) is Veronica Lake!
The lead single, "The Girl Is Crying in Her Latte" was released March 3, 2023 and the second single, "Veronica Lake" released on April 21, 2023.
The lyrics seem to draw especially from the famous story of how female factory workers during WWII would emulate Lake’s Peek-a-boo Bang hair style and Lake was hired promote safer hairstyles; ones that would prevent injuries while working with machinery. The album cover art even has a girl with a peek-a-boo hairstyle going on.
