Lake is again consigned to a middling role and despite high billing she has very little to do and her character is less than flattering as she manipulates situations to her advantage, albeit in not exactly terrible ways.

By this time Paramount seem content to throw Lake the odd role that could be used in advertisements to get the audience in but had no confidence in her to actually carry a movie. She had troubles in the previous years with fellow performers and personally but her career was definitely in a downward spiral.

This is Bracken and Lynn's movie despite the prominent Veronica Lake credit (who barely appears but does a reasonable job despite the rather insultingly small role).

Decent enough plot and performances all round and Bracken's miming to Bing Crosby's voice was kinda odd but acceptable with the light tone of the material. Not my thing but an okay watch.
